Privacy policy
Last updated 20 August 2026
This policy explains what Yapify Pty Ltd does with personal information collected through this website, yapify.co. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal language.
The short version: this website does not track you. There are no analytics, no advertising pixels and no cookies. The only personal information we get is what you choose to send us — by email, by phone, by WeChat, or through the "I'm interested" and "Get in touch" forms on this site.
Who we are
Yapify Pty Ltd (ABN 14 697 098 918, ACN 697 098 918), a company registered in Victoria, Australia. You can reach us at team@yapify.co, on 0426 692 751, or by post at PO Box 5182, Hughesdale VIC 3166.
What this policy covers
This policy covers this website only. Our membership app, when it is released, will have its own privacy policy, because it handles different information.
What we collect
- Nothing automatically, from us. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider records ordinary technical information when a page is requested — IP address, browser type, time, and the page requested. This is used to keep the site running and secure. We do not use it to identify individuals.
- What you send us. If you email us, call us, message us on WeChat, or use the "I'm interested" or "Get in touch" forms, we receive whatever you choose to include: usually your name and email address, and sometimes a phone number, a WeChat ID and a message. Form submissions are delivered to our team inbox by email and kept in our internal system so we can reply and keep track of who is coming. We record a one-way hash (not the address itself) of the connection used to send a form, purely to stop spam. If a form cannot be sent online, it falls back to opening your own email app instead.
- What members choose to tell us. If you are a member, the Details page in your member area lets you add a birthday, a gender, a one-line description, what you do, where you study, a preferred language and a contact number. Every one of these is optional. Nothing is required to be a member, none of them changes what you can do, and you can change or clear any of them at any time from the same page. We ask for them so we can run our events better — a birthday is a date rather than an age because an age goes out of date, the contact number is stored only and is never verified and never texted, and the language choice is stored for later because the site is English only today. Deleting your account removes all of them along with everything else.
What we do with it
- Reply to you.
- Tell you the details of the event you asked about, and let you know if it changes.
- Keep a record of who came, so we can run events safely and plan the next one.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with anyone for marketing.
Who else sees it
A small number of service providers help us run things — our website host, and our email provider. They only handle information as needed to provide their service. Where an event is run with a partner (for example a sports association or a venue), we may need to share attendance details with them for that event; we will tell you at the time.
Payments, ticketing and your basket
Stripe. When you check out on this site, your payment is handled by Stripe. You enter your card details directly into Stripe's payment form — Yapify never sees or stores your card number, CVV, or any other raw card information. Stripe is certified to the highest level of payment industry security standards (PCI DSS Level 1). On that page Stripe also collects your email address and phone number, and your delivery address if you chose post; we receive those so we can send your order and contact you about it. For more, see Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/au/privacy.
Humanitix. Some event tickets are sold through Humanitix. When you buy a ticket through Humanitix, your name, email address and payment details are collected by Humanitix directly — see their privacy policy at Humanitix privacy and cookies notice. Where Yapify receives order or attendee details from Humanitix, we use them only to manage the event and keep our accounts.
Order updates. If you buy something we email you about that order — a confirmation, and then a note when it is posted or ready to collect. Nothing else.
Order records. When you buy something, we keep a record of the order — your name, contact details, what you bought, and the delivery address if you chose post. We keep it because Australian tax law requires records of a sale to be kept for five years.
Your basket. The shopping basket on this site stores what you have added in your browser's local storage only — it never leaves your device until you choose to check out. There are no basket cookies and no cross-session tracking. Clearing your browser storage clears your basket.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and event registrations are kept while they are useful and then deleted. If you ask us to delete your information, we will.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email team@yapify.co and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first and we will try to fix it. If you are still unhappy, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Children
Our events are open to everyone, but this website is not directed at children under 15, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information through it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will say so on the site. Back to yapify.co
